Joomla! is one of the most used free and open-source content management systems. Joomla is an Open Source Matters Inc product which was introduced to publish web content. This framework is built on the base of the model–view–controller web application framework.

There are servers using older versions of Joomla. These Joomla versions are vulnerable to different types of attacks like:-

  3. Cross Site Scripting
  4. Multiple Vulnerabilities
  5. Cross-site Request Forgery
  6. SQL injection

Each of these vulnerabilities is unique to different versions of Joomla!. If an attacker gets to know the version of Joomla!. He could exploit and pinpoint all the vulnerable sections in the application to conduct a successful attack.
